Would you drive your car and never change your oil? Not if you wanted it to last a long time. Out of sight, out of mind. What does your evaporator coil look like?
Dirty Evaporator Coil
Clean Evaporator Coil
Your air conditioning and heating system could account for about 50% of your utility bill and is ofen the largest energy user in your home. Dirt makes your equipment work harder. Heat pumps and air conditioners work by transferring heat. The transfer surfaces work best when they are clean and free of dirt, dust, or other obstructions.
Our preventative maintenance agreements consist of two visits a year - once to check your heating equiment and once to check your cooling equipment. Our technician will change your filter with a standard quality 1" pleated filter during both visits. He will check between 25 to 35 different items. Checking the safety components is number one. Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless, and tasteless gas that can kill you. If you have a gas furnace, it definitely needs to be checked at the beginning of every heating season for carbon monoxide leaks.

Making sure your equipment is running properly and identifying potential problems before they break, is part of our job. Keeping you comfortable is what we love to do most. Our preventative maintenance customers receive 15% discounts on repair parts and labor, and never pay extra on week-ends, holidays, or after-hours calls.
The EPA recommends that you look at your filter every 30 days, and if it is dirty, change it. Keeping your filter changed to protect your equipment is less expensive than costly repairs resulting from lack of maintenance.
It is an easy way for you to help keep your equipment clean, and help keep your utility bills lower. A clogged air filter can damage your equipment and even stop your equipment from working. Rinsing off your condenser unit and keeping it clean of grass clippings, dirt and leaves can help it run more efficiently.
Just like a car has serviceable parts - like spark plugs - that have to be replaced periodically, your HVAC equipment has serviceable parts too - such as capacitors, contactors, and hot surface igniters. These parts typically do not last as long as your equipment. Our technicians are trained to examine these parts carefully during the check-up and identify any parts that are starting to show significant signs of wear. During extreme temperatures, these parts are most likely to fail - causing an interruption in the operation of your equipment - leaving you uncomfortable. Preventative maintenance is designed to "prevent" that from happening.
